Working With the New York City School Construction Authority
Our firm was selected by the New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) to build a new, state-of-the art educational facility for pre-K through fifth grade students. The new building is being constructed on an empty lot at the corner of 62nd Street and Ft. Hamilton Parkway in Brooklyn, NY. The new school was designed by the in-house studio of the SCA Architecture and Engineering Department.
A Facility to Meet
the Students Needs
The building will have a cellar and five-stories above grade and will be fully air conditioned. The building program includes:
- 14 classrooms and five special education classrooms
- science lab and classroom
- library and gymnasium
- kitchen and cafeteria
For outdoor recreation, a 4,000sf play terrace will be built on the third floor level. Included in the program is a wireless Local Area Network (LAN), internet access throughout and interactive smart technology in each of the classrooms.
