Structure Tone Gives Back to NYC Children in Need(May 25, 2009) - Structure Tone once again teamed with United Way of New York for its annual Gridiron Gala. Anthony Carvette, president of Structure Tone, served as co-chair of the 2009 event. Co-chairing the New York Gridiron Gala with Mr. Carvette was Joseph Cabrera, executive vice president of Cushman & Wakefield; Marianne Cooper, managing director, American Express IBM Corporation; and Carl Tobiasen, general manager global business services, Thomson Reuters.

The gala honored two Community Quarterbacks and two Hometown Heroes. Sam Palmisano, chairman and CEO of IBM Corporation and David Turner, CFO markets division, Thomson Reuters were the Community Quarterback honorees, and D’Brickashaw Ferguson of the New York Jets and Eli Manning of the New York Giants were the Hometown Heroes. Phil Simms served as master of ceremonies for the evening and Joe Namath was an honored guest.

This year, the Gridiron Gala raised over $1.5M and over $18M in the event’s history since 1994. “This is my fourteenth year as co-chair and each year the experience becomes more and more rewarding,” said Mr. Carvette. “As Vince Lombard said ‘it’s not whether you get knocked down it’s whether you get back up’ and this event gives kids throughout New York a big helping hand up.” Funds raised through the Gridiron Gala support the United Way of New York City whose programs improve the lives of vulnerable children in all five boroughs.
