Early Planning to Achieve the Schedule
Structure Tone managed the construction of a mission critical data center, Dub 2, for our colocation client. The project entailed adaptive reuse of a single-story warehouse, and the design and construction of a fully integrated mission critical facility.
During the preconstruction and design period, critical long-lead items were approved and procured to ensure their delivery and availability. The team mobilised on-site and commenced with demolition of the existing finishes and the exterior civil and structural works.
State-of-the-Art Data Center
The data center supports the latest high-density power configurations. It offers 2N UPS power and N+I cooling as well as advanced alarm and monitoring systems. It has been designed using the client’s energy efficient modular architecture with free-cooling and maximum efficiency components as standard. A containerized system was utilized for the mechanical and electrical infrastructure, providing faster speed to market and greater flexibility. Power monitoring and management systems also enable customers to monitor their power usage streamlining their operations to optimise power usage effectiveness.
In addition to the data halls, a new head office was designed and constructed with an early handover date. Site improvements consisted of relocating existing utilities within the existing building footprint, building a new electrical sub-station, and construction of new exterior plant areas, car-park, building facade work, and landscaping.
