  • four radial-drive aircraft boarding bridges
  • state-of-the-art baggage handling equipment
  • sitework encompassing 75 acres

  • fueling farm
  • surface parking lots & parking controls
  • access roadways
  • hardscaping and landscaping

The terminal was constructed with a structural steel frame, composite concrete/steel decks, and exterior precast and stone façade. A roof deck on the third level was incorporated into the design halfway into the construction phase. A food court with full kitchen and bar was constructed on the second floor with administrative offices on the third floor.

Security Features for the New Age

One of the first greenfield airports constructed after 9/11, the initial design underwent extensive revisions incorporating new federal guidelines to prevent future security breaches which included:

  • a concrete blast wall
  • blast resistant windows
  • seismic reinforcement and thicker precast concrete panels

These elements were part of the revised design to mitigate the effects of a potential bomb blast and keep flying objects or equipment from causing injury. In addition parking areas were modified to comply with the new federal stand-off requirements during high threat periods. Our firm installed a high-end security system that included numerous security cameras, redundant connections and redundant baggage screening equipment, among many other new security features.
