K&L Gates
Pittsburgh, PA

Complexity and Variety
are our Specialties

When K&L Gates needed to relocate to their new global headquarters, they turned to Structure Tone to lead the way. Their new offices in downtown Pittsburgh span over half of the floors in 210 Sixth Avenue, recently renamed the K&L Gates Center.

For this 280,000sf project, Structure Tone was responsible for managing a complex team of architects, subcontractors and vendors in an occupied high-rise building located in a busy downtown area.

The project wasn’t just about constructing high-end interior space; it also entailed structural modifications and supplemental mechanical and electrical services. Modifications and upgrades were performed on the elevators cabs and crossover floors as well. On the exterior, we updated the façade, the loading dock and the plazas surrounding the building. State-of-the-art communications technology was put in place in the conference center and various artistic features are installed throughout.

Sleek and Sophisticated Silver

Designed to achieve LEED Silver certification, sophisticated, clean-lined interior finishes and the latest communications technology characterize the functional yet beautiful workplace. Commissioned art enlivens both interior and exterior, with original wall murals gracing two floors, five “light columns” connecting the building with the street and a neon wall sculpture at the entry reception desk.
