Historic Building with Modern Spaces

CBRE, the world’s largest real estate firm, selected the historic Metropolitan Life building at 200 Park Avenue for their new home. Having extensive experience working both inside and outside of the building, Structure Tone was their contractor of choice for the project. CBRE required the new 82,000sf, four-floor fit-out for their over 700 employees be state-of-the-art, sleek and eco-friendly. The LEED Silver space included cutting-edge A/V and teleconference systems and SMART boards in all conference and training rooms as well as in the Town Hall public assembly area. Additionally, Skyfold and Modernfold partitions and new MEP systems were installed throughout the space.

The Centerpiece of the Space

A project highlight was the new 21st floor main reception area which contains meeting rooms, a dining room and a terrace. The atrium featured 300 LED down lights and a Boswaphon ceiling for a dramatic and sophisticated look. In addition to the glass and stone of the decorative stair, the finishes included stone, walnut and lacquer panels and artisan plaster designs in the elevator lobbies and reception area. Our staff pre-purchased long lead items, including fixtures and carpeting and presented over 50 alternatives/design options to CBRE with the necessary cost breakdowns to keep the project on budget.
