On a Fast-track Schedule
Structure Tone provided preconstruction and construction management services for the 100,000sf renovation of the Hyatt Regency. Originally scheduled to be completed in one year the schedule was compressed to four months while the hotel remained open and operational. Structure Tone rose to the challenge and successfully completed the project while exceeding the client’s expectations. Work included:
- the hotel lobby and reception area
- The Glass Woods Tavern, the new restaurant and bar
- a state-of-the art conference room
- ballrooms and the installation of a grand stair
- 288 guest bathrooms renovated
- a new fitness center
- a new curtainwall system
- heating and air conditioning systems replacement
- trench drains, pavement, concrete sidewalks and landscaping
The Lobby and Public Spaces
The most crucial task Structure Tone undertook was the complete demolition and renovation of the hotel lobby. The focal point of the new design, towering 40ft high ceilings were completely re-painted and wired for new lighting and sound. A large portion of the area was raised in elevation to accommodate new pre-function areas outside the ballrooms.
To meet the high demand for conference space, our team converted an existing dining area into a state-of-the-art conference center. However, we faced another challenge when our team realized that this conversion couldn’t commence until five weeks prior to the grand opening, to minimize dining area downtime. In five hectic weeks, this space was completely demolished and transformed into a brand new conference center.
