Layout, Layout, Layout
Our firm provided general contracting services for the interior fit-out of celebrity chef Dean Fearing’s new 6,500sf signature restaurant on the ground floor of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. The main dining area features a formal interior and is accentuated by several rooms and spaces with a more casual atmosphere. Crucial to the workings of a successful restaurant is the kitchen layout. The owner requested state-of-the-art equipment be open to the main dining room allowing guests to see the chef at work. Coordination of the ductwork, piping, and electrical services required weeks of intense planning and installation before walls and ceilings could be built and the beautiful dining areas finishes installed. Additionally, each piece of kitchen equipment required feasibility analysis to confirm placement of water, power, and gas so that the final installation would fit together as designed.
Scheduling Coordination
With a hard opening date for the new Dallas hotel, our staff worked closely with the base building contractor to complete the restaurant construction simultaneously with the hotel construction. An extensive schedule and logistics plan were developed to keep material delivery and man-power fluid on site in and around base-building workers. We worked diligently with material vendors and the client’s equipment vendors to ensure all deliveries were made on time to keep the project on schedule. This gourmet restaurant was successfully completed on time for the opening of the new Ritz-Carlton.
