Working in an Active Environment
Two of the Sheraton's Philadelphia hotels underwent a complete renovation and modernization, which Structure Tone completed while both hotels remained open and operational. At the Four Points by Sheraton, Structure Tone updated over 300 guest rooms, the lobby, public spaces and the fitness center. At the Sheraton Suites Hotel, we renovated 251 two-room guest suites, public spaces and the pool.
In the public areas, temporary walls were erected to separate the construction area. In deference to the hotel guests, work was only performed between the hours of 9am to 6pm. To finish quickly and with as little disturbance as possible to guests, our firm coordinated many trades at once and worked seven days a week through the winter holidays. At one point, while a majority of the rooms were under construction, we were simultaneously turning over floors while starting others.
New Accommodations for the Hotel Guests
In the Sheraton Suites, all guest rooms were gutted and renovated with high-end wall coverings, carpet and paint. In the guest bathrooms, all counters were refinished and new tile, sinks and toilet fixtures were installed. Two bars were constructed in the public spaces, one free standing and one in the restaurant, as well as the addition of a Starbucks and a "burger bar."
At the Sheraton Four Points, the construction was completed in phases. First, all guest rooms were updated and received similar treatments. Then, the hotel's public spaces including the bar, restaurant and lobby were gutted and renovated. In addition, a new reception area, gym, meeting rooms and ballroom were all constructed.
