Work Across Mt. Sinai’s Campus

Structure Tone has been providing both construction management and general contracting services to Mt. Sinai Medical Center throughout their campus facilities. Our work is as varied and specialized as the services they provide to their patients. Projects include:

  • conversion of four floors within a 50-year-old nurses’ residence into the School of Medicine’s medical office space. This fast-track 16-week, 30,000sf project took place in an occupied building.
  • conversion of existing space to specialty labs on the 22nd floor of the Annenberg Building. The new labs required a specialty stainless steel containment exhaust system running from the lab up eight stories to the roof. Specialty installation was required for high purity piping for reverse osmosis.
  • renovation of the Oncology facility and LINAC facility. The LINAC required excavation and lead containment in the entire room area. The room layout had to be exact to accommodate the new unit.

KP6 Project, Bronx, NY

Structure Tone managed the complete renovation of the palliative and inpatient care units. This 36,000sf project required a significant amount of MEP work on the floor below. The construction affected the neo-natal unit, sleep study area, patient rooms and ICU area. Prior to the start of any construction a detailed infection control risk assessment (ICRA) and site specific safety program was developed, approved by the environmental department and implemented. Based on newly added activities and areas of work, we updated the programs as needed.
