Redundancy Requirements

Structure Tone evaluated an existing 30,000sf data center infrastructure to see if it would meet our internet client’s redundancy requirements. We determined that the existing infrastructure, except the raised access flooring (RAF) and the CRAC units, needed to be de-commissioned and replaced. The RAF was reused and utilized for the new power and cooling distribution. Each of the 11 existing CRAC units was meticulously inspected by the mechanical contractor to ensure proper operation.

The data center equipment went through a detailed start up and verification process prior to commissioning and turnover. The final testing consisted of an integrated site testing script procedure and a “pull the plug” test. This tested the reliability and redundancy between each system and ensured that the entire system was 100% operational.
