Coordinating with the Base Building Contractor
As construction manager, Structure Tone worked with Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft to build its new 93,000sf law office. In keeping with the law firm’s design standards, significant glass systems and millwork were installed on all four floors. We constructed:
- a high density file system
- library
- typical office space
- executive offices
Working alongside the base building contractor, Structure Tone coordinated the schedule and delivery dates to ensure that the tie-ins for sprinkler, mechanical and electrical systems are installed correctly throughout the space.
LEEDing the Way
Structure Tone often works with clients to incorporate sustainable practices. Structure Tone’s knowledge and previous experience in building LEED projects helped the project team convince Cadwalader to “go green.”
Cadwalader had not planned to build a LEED Certified project, but Structure Tone showed them that with a few small changes in scope, and minimal changes to their budget, the new law firm space could achieve certification. The project team used low VOC paints and furniture, recycled construction waste onsite and conducted indoor air quality testing.
