Safe and Secure at Home
Structure Tone is dedicated to supporting the local community in which we work and live. When we had the opportunity to work with the Association for the Multiple Impaired Blind (AMIB), we dug in to help them build a new house and renovate four existing ones for its residential program. In Howell, we renovated an existing ranch, including:
- converting the existing garage into an office, medication room and laundry room
- enclosing a porch to create a new kitchen
- constructing a new concrete patio to encourage and facilitate the interaction of the housemates
- upgrading the HVAC, fire sprinkler and alarm systems
In Lacey, our team built an out-of-the-ground, 4,800sf, eight-bedroom home, complete with kitchen, group living space, nurse’s station, medicine room, offices and accompanying parking lot. Three additional facilities throughout Brick Township were renovated as well.
Designed for Special Needs
AMIB offers lifelong care, promoting community integration and participation of people who are visually and multiply-impaired. Each home was designed to ensure that it is sufficiently flexible to anticipate changes in individual and group needs. Each facility was built or renovated to create complete ADA accessibility in all rooms of the house including:
- hallways
- bathrooms
- bedrooms
- common living spaces
