A Small Footprint for a Large Building Requires Teamwork
The new 900 Biscayne Bay condominium tower has redefined a downtown Miami neighborhood. The 63-story condominium complex offers 516-units on 47-floors with resort style amenities. The remaining floors offer over 70,000sf of office space and 15,000sf of retail at its base. The structure's garage offers 815-spaces. Selected for our expertise working on tight construction sites in urban locations, we effectively maximized the site to accomplish the project. Through detailed logistics plans, a carefully orchestrated project schedule, and a collaborative team effort, the project was realized. The entire team shared an office on-site to facilitate constant communication and true collaboration and help resolve any issue that arose.
Quality Control to Maintain the View
Besides its height, which achieved vertical accuracy of one inch, what makes this project unique is that the building’s angle and its undulating façade provide each residential unit a view of Biscayne Bay. The building features extensive use of glass on its façade and exudes a strong horizontal presence. The glass exterior provides uninterrupted cladding from the base of the structure all the way to its top. Glass balcony handrails further accentuate the façade and foster uninterrupted views. There is no break in the façade from the ground floor to the top. Moreover, the curvilinear shape of the tower's roof adds a feeling of movement to the structure, as if the air is sweeping the building mass.
