CBS This Morning New Studios Complete
The construction of CBS This Morning’s new studio, managed by Structure Tone is now complete. The state-of-the-art broadcast studio is on-air and transmitting live feed. While the CBS This Morning studio was on the air for the first few months, Structure Tone started working next door on the new CBS newsroom. Out of the camera’s eye, the team constructed new office support space and talent offices on the second floor and mezzanine level.

The Courtyard Newark Downtown, built by Structure Tone, is the first new hotel in the downtown area since 1971. The 150-room hotel abuts the Prudential Center, home to the NJ Devils, and a historic pre-World War I office building, which created challenging logistics and a delicate construction process.

As over five million people visit St. Patrick’s Cathedral this year, they will bear witness to the remarkable historic restoration Structure Tone is managing for the Archdiocese of New York. During the 22-month project Structure Tone is restoring the façade, replacing stone and wood on the exterior of the church, re-glazing the stained glass storm windows, cleaning over 1,000 additional stain glass windows, repainting portions of the ceiling, replacing the alters and fixing the roof.

The Barnes Foundation Moves Its Art Collection to a New Building in Philadelphia
Dr. Albert Barnes, an influential scientist and life-long learner, amassed the largest private collection of post-impressionist and modernist artworks in the world and wanted to share it with the public. After years of debate the Foundation moved the collection from Merion to Philadelphia, however the Merion galleries were replicated in size, scale and placement of art. L.F. Driscoll constructed the 93,000sf, LEED Platinum building, a limestone structure made up of two long sections, with one of them forming an L wrapping the other. In between the buildings is a light court.

Structure Tone brought to life the vision of celebrated architect Frank Gehry and his patron, Signature Theatre Company, building the new LEED Gold certified Pershing Square Signature Center on West 42nd Street. The theatre is located on the lower and mezzanine levels of a new multi-story, mixed-use hotel and residences, which was built simultaneously.

Construction of the Temple University’s new 703,000sf Morgan Hall, managed by L.F. Driscoll, celebrated the topping out of the new residential complex, which has transformed the Philadelphia skyline along North Broad Street. The 27-story and the 10-story, structural steel and slab on deck dormitories provide 1,250 additional beds and will provide additional shopping and eating amenities for students.

Over 17-months Structure Tone restored the 82-year-old Main Hall building, the center piece of Wagner College. Structure Tone provided construction management services for the exterior and interior renovation of the Main Hall including installing a new dome, a feature bay window and new windows in all classrooms; reinforcing the roof of the building; renovating the theatre; and installing all new HVAC systems.

L.F. Driscoll in partnership with Albert C. Kobayashi, Inc., are constructing a new state-of-the-art LEED Gold cancer research center for the University of Hawaii. The 165,000sf two-building facility will be one of 65 premier research organizations in the country designated by the National Cancer Institute. Building A will include four floors of wet labs and Building B will include six floors of dry lab, one seminar room, test kitchen, and fitness center.
