Dallas Law Firm Built by Structure Tone Southwest Receives LEED Silver Certification
| (June 24, 2009) - The new 180,000sf headquarters for Thompson & Knight law firm in Dallas officially received LEED Sliver certification from the USGBC (United States Green Building Council). This is the first major law firm in Dallas to receive LEED certification and the achievement was recently acknowledged in the Dallas Business Journal. Structure Tone Southwest, a member of the Structure Tone organization, was construction manager for the new offices. For each LEED credit pursued, Structure Tone Southwest provided the required materials, specifications and documentation needed to achieve certification. Structure Tone Southwest had direct responsibility for providing, fulfilling and managing the construction process to meet the LEED-CI intent in the following credit areas: Materials and Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Innovation and Design. This required a highly skilled subcontracting team that we carefully prequalified and selected based on its capabilities. Pursing LEED certification requires early coordination and planning with the trades to ensure delivery of the materials and finishes while honoring the environment at the site and the proper project documentation. Our staff worked closely with all subcontractors to ensure that materials selection, installation and documentation met LEED criteria, as well as our project standards.
