Since 2000, our firm has been providing preconstruction and construction management services to Shell Oil Company and its subsidiaries. During the course of our relationship, we have built-out over 2,000,000sf of space. Projects have ranged from new out-of-the-ground command centers to 10-floor interior fit-outs and from repair work due to hurricanes to annual service contracts to maintain Shell’s facilities.
At certain points in our history with Shell, projects were managed simultaneously without compromising the end result, a testament to our quality control and safety programs, efficiency and ability to prioritize different responsibilities. Our relationship has grown considerably over the years and we consistently work with Shell on upgrade and maintenance projects, as well as assist with overall "campus" master plans. One challenging project we recently completed for Shell was the Deer Park Lab.
Deer Park Lab
The 10,000sf lab is located within the company’s refinery complex, in which we have also constructed a 20,000sf control center. The 13-month aggressive schedule was completed on-time time.
The new building included:
- a 4,000sf and a 2,000sf lab, as well as two 1,000sf labs
- a breakroom, bathroom, electrical and mechanical room totaling 2,000sf
- storage area
Safety Excellence
The project team was honored by Shell Chemical LP with the 2008 HSE Contractor Award in recognition of our safety excellence and achievement of "Goal Zero" at Shell's facilities. The project team achieved a perfect safety record for the year, 365 days without incident. As with all projects managed by our firm, a site-specific safety plan was developed and implemented to keep all workers and visitors safe at all times.
