Women’s Healthcare Center

We served as construction manager to Nyack Hospital and New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System for the five phase Women's Health Center project, which entailed upgrades to the changing, film reading, lab/tech, ultrasound and bone density rooms. The 1,100sf Center was fully occupied during construction and required detailed logistics planning as well as dust and noise controls. Safety and scheduling were critical aspects of the project due to the delivery times for the equipment and systems start-p and testing while the facility was open for patients. Utilities were brought from the floor below and special consideration was given to the routing and location. The project team coordinated with hospital facilities for IT/tel/data and all shut downs.

Preconstruction Planning

Work for the multi-phased renovation of the 10,000sf fifth floor of Nyack Hospital included patient rooms, corridors and office space. During preconstruction, our team conducted scope clarification, developed detailed logistics plans and created a 36-point daily monitoring log. Prior to any work commencing for each phase, we conducted a “start up day” to ensure the space had negative pressure and was carefully protected. The planning and coordination of shutdowns was crucial to the construction. At the end of the shift/time allotted, our firm, in conjunction with the Hospital’s engineers, confirmed all systems were up and online.
