S/M/W/DBE Participation
Structure Tone’s policy and firm-wide practices are intended to provide the maximum practical opportunity for the participation of small, minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprise businesses in our projects. As a leading construction firm, our continued viability depends on our ability to forge relationships with a wide range of groups and to continue to develop innovative and effective S/M/W/DBE participation.
For example, in addition to our own internal policies, we have worked extensively with clients to develop and implement client-owned programs for MBE and WBE participation. Structure Tone is a strategic partner with a Fortune 100 financial services leader to establish guidelines for a formal procurement program of qualified M/WBE services. This comprehensive program serves as the framework and model for procurement that is applied for construction services throughout our client’s organization.
Mentoring and Networking
In addition to our corporate commitment, we are dedicated to mentoring and networking with S/M/W/DBE subcontractors. On every project we develop and implement effective programs tailored for that project and its specific needs and goals. As part of this effort, we conduct extensive programs including assisting subcontractors in becoming qualified; working with subcontractor associations, civic organizations and community agencies; and providing technical assistance through training programs provided by Structure Tone’s staff. We promote supplier diversity in our community by mentoring these S/M/W/DBE subcontractors, and offer any assistance we can with the certification process. In addition, Structure Tone supports the S/M/W/DBE community by participating in area trade shows and advertising opportunities.
