Construction Management
As the construction manager, our firm built a new 4,500sf bank branch for Wachovia in a regional shopping center. The new branch serves as a model for future banks. This contemporary space includes custom wall coverings, specialty accent lighting, and mahogany veneer wood paneling. A pathway of ceramic tiles leads clients through the branch. This path is bordered on both sides by inlay carpeting. Four perimeter offices with specialty etched glass fronts populate the space. The vault and safe deposit box room is located in the main banking lobby. Behind the main banking counter are five teller workstations; three drive-up teller stations are separated by a floor-to-ceiling partition. An employee break room is located in the back adjacent to the computer room and data center.
Exceeding the Client's Goals
Wachovia’s goals were exceeded by completing the project ahead of schedule and under budget. Key factors that contributed to the overall success of the project included considerable coordination with bank vendors and the property developer. Also, our team overcame obstacles such as unstable weather including a small tornado and extreme heat; and unstable soil conditions. The soil contained a high content of organic material. The condition was corrected by over-excavating and installing structural fill on top of soil stabilization fabric.
