Refurbishing History
Structure Tone provided design/build construction services for the 110,000sf refurbishment of the Royal Courts of Justice. Our team worked diligently to devise a plan to ensure the safety and security of the fully operational judicial and administrative campus, which includes the Court of Appeal and the High Court. The plan also entailed a provision regarding the quality of the construction and installation to protect the historic status of the Grade II building. The project involved structural and interior refurbishment, including upgrades to the district heating and cooling system.
Construction Scope of Work
The team fully met the quality standards of the Court as the team refurbished:
- judicial areas
- public areas, new mezzanine
- 14 courts
- new M&E installation, including boiler replacement for whole campus
- new external glazing
- external façade glazing and decoration
