Extra Extra!
Read all about the newsworthy, 100,000sf tenant fit-out project for Daily News over two floors. The sixth floor was a renovation of the existing office space while the seventh floor was a completely new fit-out. A steel interconnecting stair was constructed for access between the floors as well.
The state-of-the-art space features a media hub—a wall with 18 large, flat screen televisions with scrolling news items— and a photo and video studio. In addition the floor includes:
- open and private office spaces
- conference/training room
- data center
- pantry
- copy/print room
- storage
The scope of work also entailed some ancillary construction within in the building including the installation of storage in the basement and a reconfiguration of an existing mailroom near the loading dock into a parking garage.
Deadline Driven
This fast track, 12-week project included the construction of a data center, which had to be on-line eight weeks prior to the overall project completion. Our expert technical services team pre-purchased PDUs and CRAC units to meet the schedule requirements. The overall infrastructure installed also included a UPS system.
