Expanding Education
The Broadway Education Campus located in lower Manhattan selected our firm to perform the complete build-out of the 103,000sf educational space on three levels, including the ground level, first level, mezzanine and second level for a new high school. The school space, which will accommodate 677 students, is located inside a NYC landmarked building, which serves as a mixed-use facility.
Work included installation of new HVAC and fire sprinkler system, and as part of the adaptive reuse a section of the building’s interior courtyard will now accommodate a double-height physical education space.
Setting Standards
The Broadway Education Campus is the first NYC educational facility in a leased space and set the standard for on-going development of the SCA’s NYC Green Schools Guide. Brendan Mullahy, project officer, SCA had this to say of the project: “We had the ribbon cutting this evening and the [school] principal sang praises for Structure Tone and the beautiful job they have done. It has been a pleasure working with you guys and I want to congratulate you all on a job well done. I hope to work with you all again in the near future.”
